About Me

Hi, I’m Alex. I’m originally from the US and now based in Greater Manchester, usually with a camera somewhere nearby.

I’m a self-taught photographer with a particular love for portraits, although I also photograph travel, events, and whatever catches my eye along the way.

​

I started out taking self-portraits and regularly roping my husband and dog into modeling for me. More recently, I’ve been volunteering in my community, using portrait photography to shine a light on the amazing work being done by local people and organizations.  My favorite shots are usually the ones where people let their guard down , and their personality comes through.​

I also love travel photography. I really appreciate how having a camera with me keeps me present and makes me pay attention to the small details I might otherwise miss. It makes me look around a little more closely and notice the beauty in the everyday things we pass by without giving much thought, while also helping me capture the feeling and character of the places I visit.

Photography isn’t my profession. I just really love it. I’m still learning, experimenting, and figuring out what works, which is a big part of why I enjoy it so much.
